Leatherback Sea turtle
The Leatherback Turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) is the largest living sea turtle. Some specimens can reach a length of up to 2.5 meters and a weight of 700 kilograms. The record belongs to a leather turtle, which had a length of 256 centimeters and a weight of 916 kilogram. The animals was washed up on a beach in Wales.
Along the Caribbean, they are from the months of March to July. Some good places include Barra de Pacuare and Gandoca Manzanillo, being Barra de Pacuare. On the Pacific, they are located in Playa Ventanas, Playa Grande and several other beaches along the Pacific Ocean.
