Rainfall and temperature
The climate in Tortuguero is tropical humid and rainy, the typical climate of a tropical forest, hot, with high humidity and green tropical vegetation everywhere. The average temperature will always be high, due to the altitude above the sea.
Normally it is always rainy, however, the months of September and October may present, contrary to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, a small dry season. The rainiest month is usually July, and the coldest month is usually January.
The average temperature varies between 22 and 32 degrees Celsius. The warmest month with the highest average maximum temperature is April with 32 ° C. The months of January, August, September, October, November and December remain at an average of 29 ° C. The months with the lowest temperature are March, April, May and July (24 ° C). The coldest months are November and December (22 ° C).
