Freshwater turtle in Tortuguero
Tortuguero is also inhabited by other specimens of turtles. This image is of an adult freshwater turtle sunbathing on the banks in Tortuguero National Park in Costa Rica.
The Tortuguero canals are a vast network of tropical rainforest canals that criss cross the vast tropical lowland jungles within the park and beyond. These canals are the preferred habitat for many species of wildlife, reptiles, amphibians, insects, birds and much more. The main trip included in our 3 days and the 2 nights package is the guided boat tour through these canals.
